THIS IS ME: MY MANIFESTO
I eat nourishing foods and stay active. I love fresh fruits and vegetables, high quality protein sources and other whole foods. I drink plenty of green juice, but enjoy indulging in a delicious treat from time to time (and eat dark chocolate almost every day). I seek to find balance and live in a way that allows me to feel good, both mentally and physically. I believe in working to fuel my body for my goals and eating mindfully (which can still be a struggle). I don’t believe in fad diets or labels. I believe in eating foods that make me feel good and choose to omit those that don’t. I work hard and enjoy pushing my body to new limits when my schedule allows, but also know the importance of listening to my body and the signals it sends me. Beyond anything else, I am a mother and a wife and that always comes first. This means that, sometimes, health and fitness fall to the wayside and I have to do the work to get in alignment again. And that's ok. I try to find time every day to de-stress and work to ensure the pressures of life and what is going on in the world around me don't determine my mindset or that path I know to be right. I don’t attempt to be perfect, nor do I wish to present myself as such. I am on a journey like everybody else, and continue to learn new things every day. I am ok with being wrong, and remain open to altering my beliefs and understanding, as science presents itself. I love to support and inspire others to lead a healthy life, but have no desire to throw my beliefs and passion in anyone’s face. Their journey is their own, and a desire to put health at the forefront must first come from within. I believe being healthy is more than just eating well. It’s just as much a mental state as a physical one. Working to achieve health takes daily effort. Once we understand this and the value it holds, we can then begin to realize our best self.
